“Feed a hungry mouth. Clothe a miserable body. Educate a poor being. Reach out to a depressed soul. Rescue an animal. Help as much as you can. Touch as many hearts as you go. Selflessly. Without expectations. The one and only approach for a human to live with stalwart dignity is by staying humane.”
-The Little Mermaid, MMXVI
One of my recent post talks along this line!
You capture the essence of being Human in very short words !
Good Job there.
Thanks Bhanu!
It is distressing to see that today we have more humans but less humanity. I just try to spread some positive vibes out there through my writings.
Sure. It is distressing, but let’s not feel sad. Let’s buckle up and do whatever least we can do, may be by poems, by awareness, by doing small activities or by standing for what we believe 🙂
I could not have said it any better. Yes! Let’s do it.
Almighty! Grant ease to uneasy hearts of those facing difficulties. Let them endure with beautiful patience & make them among the righteous.
Aw this touched me.
I hope you are keeping well Imran. 🙂
So basic yet so forgotten trait of being human ,inspiring
Thank you 🙂
So beautiful and all the time keep on thanking the Almighty and so very nicely worded.
Thank you so much.
Hugs X
Beautiful
Thank you, lovely one.
🙂
So true… ✌❤🌎
I just hope more people put this into practice, Luca.
Thanks for dropping by 🙂
I will try making my part for that… the more people I help being humans, the more I feel satisfied… it’s my work and I’m happy people appreciate the concept. 😉
You’re awesome! Stay blessed! :))
You too! :)))
I totally agree! Well said!
Thank you for the read. Have a great day! :))
Absolutely!! Being human is a lost trait.
It is becoming rare, indeed. I urge people to do a random act of kindness every once in a while. It costs nothing to bring a smile to someone’s lips.
hey… can I ask something what theme do you use little Mermaid ? I love it..so minimal…
Hi there, I’m currently using Libretto. I also love it because it’s simple and very easy to navigate.
thanks
This is so right! This is what EVERYBODY should be doing!! You are so wonderful!! Biggest hugs!!
Migueltio!! My long-lost blogging buddy! You never fall short of praises for me, do you?😊
How have you been?
Lots of love to you X
I’m here and ur awesome not to mention amazing and the most beautiful mermaid in the world! xo
Aww! You make me blush a thousand shades of crimson! X
🙂 🙂 🙂 You make me blush the shade of a thousand pomegranites! X
Simple words with realistic touch and if you all stick to these points,at the end of the day world will be in peace with no miseries☺
I’m not saying there will be no misery at all, otherwise Earth would be called ‘Paradise’. This is an altogether utopian vision for us. What I imply in this post is that by individually doing the little bit of good within our realm of possibility, we can at least abate the suffering of our fellow brothers and sisters. This is achievable.
Thanks for your contribution, Ashik. Much appreciated.🙂
This falls perfectly in line with the post I made today. The world could really truly use so much more humanity.
Everything is topsy-turvy today. People have an active virtual life but a dormant social life. Is this ‘living’? Is this ‘being real’? We are losing touch with our nears and dears. We are not being human in the true essence of the word, and this is definitely not something we should be proud of.
I’m eager to read your post. Catch you soon X
Humanity for humans!
Found missing! Oups!
Hello. What a beautiful and humane post. Wouldn’t our world be better if more people would do for others instead of being selfish? Take care now.
It would be a whole lot better! Trust me!
Have a splendid weekend! X
Small Simple Humane Sentences. And So Right !!
The sad part is that only 1% of us, follow this lifestyle.
As it is said, “It is Better to be Kind, than Right”.
I totally agree with you, Cattie!
A meaningful trail of wisdom!
Words to abide by :))
Yes! Give yourself to others! I’ve just barely started to try to devote my free time to service but I have been so enriched by it. One of the things I’ve noticed is that people I work with are hungry for your time and concern, even more so than they are hungry for monetary support…
This is human nature and in return, by giving people your precious time, undivided attention and wonted kindness, you are actually doing the greatest service to humanity.
Way to go! Have an awesome week ahead! :))
Sometimes I see signs that make me think people are losing sight of ‘humanity’ and then I read a post like this which brings me hope again! x
Should we blame our increasing, almost illimitable dependence on pervasive technology for this dismal state of things? Alas, I can already discern a gradual dehumanisation of the world.
Thanks for your input, dear Wendy. 🙂
Sadly I think you could be right and I say sadly because it’s impossible to turn back the clock.. Thankfully nature has a way of eventually showing it can’t be beaten and hopefully there will be a shift.. There is still a lot of good and beauty in the world as well thank goodness but I do worry for the future generation.. and then I think of my mum who’s philosophy was ‘whats the use of worrying’ .. xx
Indeed! What’s the use of worrying for it does not take away tomorrow’s troubles; it takes away today’s peace.
Sending hugs and love your way :))
You’re so right.. enjoy the beauty of today.. And I send Angel Blessings with Love and Light in return! xx
Amen.
🙂
English is such a restricted language when it comes to “love”. That’s it, in modern usage “Love.” Ancient Greek had four words for it and three dominated: agápe, éros and philia. I see your beautiful words as about agápe, the love of God expressed by humans to other humans. We lost the true meaning of this long ago. We renamed it charity decades ago as in “faith, hope, and charity”, but now charity is mostly seen as a top-down kindness, where the “tops” are not at all in touch with the “downs”.
I hope your words strike us all as a call to act and not just to ponder.
Looking forward to your next post, Rich
Hi Rich! It’s been a long time. I have missed you in the blogosphere. How are you doing? X
To fortify what you explicitly said, there’s a biblical injunction which goes something like: “But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth.” This is food for thought, especially for those who do charity works for adulation only to give themselves airs.
Sending love and positivity all your way! Catch you later! 🙂
Hi Little Mermaid! I’m doing really well, and you? The truth is I don’t post regularly, but I am going to try to do it more often.
I really appreciate the biblical quote; it is a very powerful and beautiful way to illustrate my point. I think of it as, “Do not let your ego know what your heart is doing.”
I send love and admiration your way. Catch you soon! Rich
Interesting blog!

I will surely check it out. 🙂
Only love for each other as for themselves what makes us human beings and in this period so dark it is love that is missing rooted hatred and violence. Posts that warms the heart, thank you!
Thanks for dropping by and having a read, Vincenzo. 🙂
A short but strong and sweet post! You must be a truly amazing soul! So, glad to meet you 🙂
I’m enchanted to meet you too Riha. Thank you for the read. Have a good day ahead! :))

“Love. Every One, everything, all the time, good or bad, no matter what.
love.
Absolutely! 🙂
Love conquers all.
Great post — I particularly like the note that this should be done “Without expectations”.
Thanks Dave! :))
Spread the love 😊💕
Indeed! :))
Beautiful words 🙂

This is so beautiful. All the things we should live our lives by: making others happy and helping those less fortunate than us. Looking forward to more of your thoughts 🙂
Followed! Please check out my take on the prompt and subscribe to my YouTube channel. https://onemoreshotplease.com/2016/10/09/my-morning-routine/
Aw thank you so much for the read and follow. I will make sure to have a look at your YouTube Channel. It sounds interesting.
Best of luck X
Selflessly, without expectations… I love it!
Thank you :))
Urvashi, The Little Mermaid!
“OLD AGE- A BURDEN OR BOON,” is the topic we are dealing with right now… I always make it a point to touch people in anyway we can. Unless we do that we loose the purpose for which we are created and living on this earth. God created us to worship Him through everything possible… One of them is taking care of fellow human being…
Thanks for initiating thought provoking prompts here in your blog which will definitely ignite a spark to the dry woods of people’s hearts.
Regards, CP
Aw your appreciative comment means a lot to me Chitradeep. Keep up the good work you too. See you around. :))
Kindness is a virtue.Let’s make a difference to each day for us and those we come into contact with.I really like this post…Stay Humane…we could all learn from reading this.
Max 👍👍
Thanks for the read Max. No matter how beautiful this post is, I believe it is nugatory if it does not inspire people to take action.
Sending positivity all your way X
That’s extremely true… And also very interesting. I really like your spirit in this.
Thanks Aiysha. :))
I really love your words of inspiration.. Sounds like something from a Bob Marley song.. Just imagine living in a world were there is no more war, where everyone could love and show each other respect. What a wonderful world it will be. A world of love and peace. But we can only do it if only we all agree that it’s your world and mine..
Indeed! But quite unfortunately, this world exists only in our imagination. Thanks for sharing your views with us. Have a fantastic week ahead! X
Thank you and you too. Stay positive and lovely x
What a beautiful words! I share all you wrote.
Thank you so much Mapy. You’re very supportive.
Stay blessed! :))
This is so nice, and I agree with you that people could sometimes be more selfless.. not all the time, obviously, because that is impossible.. but just sometimes. I think it’d make the world a generally nicer place to live. Thanks for checking out my blog 🙂
Yes Alex, it costs nothing to be nice. And you’re most welcome. 🙂
Agreed!
Wow
Thanks for the enthusiastic encouragement!
Have a great Monday! :))
You as well. Stay amazing
What a cool way to start a day by reading one of your inspiring quotes! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Aw, thanks Paula. I’m glad to connect with you in the blogosphere. Keep in touch pretty lady! 🙂
Beautiful! A lovely quote 🙂
Thank you Natalie :))
How apt! Succinctly put. Also love the Roman numerals.
Thanks Maria. Actually the roman numerals just serve as a record of the year in which I penned the thought, nothing more.
See you X
I think it’s outside the square thinking. I used to love roman numerals at school. It was like a different language of numbers.
So true, it’s an undeniable need. We are in need of more humanity, in every sense. Our world is filled up with careless souls, People used to care, but they don’t care anymore. most of them.
That’s the grim reality of today El. But we can’t sit back and complain. We must take things in our hand and try to build a more loving world, in whatever way we can.
Ahh you’re so right. Of course, we cannot sit back and complain. We must do whatever it is in our hands to make a better world
I hope your Monday Blues soon pass into a Joyful Tuesday.. 🙂 Hugs Sue xx
A JOYFUL Tuesday it is! All thanks to your good wishes. See you around!
Hugs :))
Thank you for this. It’s so easy for me to stay in my cocoon, surrounded by those who have enough and to forget the real need. Beautiful words I will attempt to put into action!
Do good and good will come to you. 🙂
Such lovely thoughts! Thank you for sharing. You are spreading your message and it is making a difference. I feel inspired to do the same. Blessings & hugs on this Monday morning.
Aw! It is heartening to know that you feel inspired to act on the message. You’re an amazing person inside and out! X
Sending love, hugs and positive energy all your way 🙂
Salient words after my own heart.
In our days of virtual conversations and virtual communities it seems being authentic – humane – as you stated is quite lacking. Being humane is at our core, its in our roots too. Hope others heed this message.
I sincerely hope so too. 🙂
“We’re only as good as the way we treat each other.”
Now that’s the real test of a person’s character!
This is definitely a philosophy that all people should embrace. The feeling you get from kindness and helping is truly amazing. We are all on this big world together… 🙂
That feeling is simply indescribable, Garvin.
Have a pleasant Sunday. X

This world needs more people who thinks this way 🙂
And more importantly, act this way, Kavita.
Best wishes to you.😊
I am with you. More kindness in action is needed for all.
Indeed!
We certainly need more of this type of caring in today’s world. Peace.
I think so too.
Best wishes to you 🙂
We are healthy only to the extent that our ideas are humane.
-Kurt Vonnegut

It is our duty. 🙂

Nice one! 🙂
Hi The Little Mermaid. Sadly for many humans this is a word they would not know or care about! Thank you for liking my poem “Biting Wind!” Peace and Best Wishes. #TheFoureyedPoet.
My ypleasure. The poem was worth more than a ‘like’.
Have a nice day! X
Love this absolutely.
Thanks Ella.
Good thinking. Keep thinking the way you thinking and change for nobody coz then you would be you coz before we become somebody we have to be ourselves without compromising.
Great work. Keep it up
Thank you for the lofty encouragement! 🙂
I love this life philosophy. It all seems so simple when it is written down this way.
Small acts of goodness are indeed simple. It is the aggregation of these simple acts which creates a positive force capable of moving mountains if need be. 🙂
Human is the most dangerous animal.
I’m afraid, we might be..
Compassion is the language of God…Thanks for the reminder Little Mermaid!!
“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. “All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? ‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? ‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ ”
Matthew 25:31-40
Hi Tom, this quote perfectly sums up what I have tried to spell out. Thanks a million for sharing.
Very true. 🙂 — Suzanne
Thanks Suz! 🙂
We are few. I have been one since 1992-” Rag Pickers”
Sorry, I did not catch that?
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Been out of town. I use a lot of metaphors when I talk, It is a Louisiana thing. I am working on that. I forget that 99% of people do not have a clue What I am talking about most of the time. I murdered way to many brain cells back in the day! I will start using foot notes. Thanks for replying. Most of the ones I get tend to be a bit nasty. Nice to get one that has a smile attached to it.
Love it!
Thank you! 🙂
Thank you beautiful soul reblogit ❤
Aww, that’s sweet! 🙂
Great message, and I love that word….stalwart. 🙂
Thanks Tom! Have a fab festive season. 🙂
Same to you Little Mermaid. 🙂
absolutely !!!
🙂
This is brilliant, Urvashi.
Thanks Matthew.🤗
You’re very welcome. Hope you have a good Valentine’s Day.
Dear friend,
Thanks for sharing your deep words about humanity. Sometimes things can be very easy and simple but we tend to make them complicated and rather take things personally. So it is our ego which has problems in sharing and giving, which wants to have advantage, being better than others, which is simply selfish and oriented only towards oneself. But vise versa there is a way that to keep distance from our own ego – it is the way of helping other people, needy people, lonesome people and many more facets of people. This selfless help in the joy in itself, the thank in itself (which is even not expected)
Allow me to share some words about humanity with you in this connection:
Are we not all human beings?
We cry, when we are sad or happy
We laugh, when we are joyful
We feel, when others suffer
We love, when our heart vibrates
Therefore: Let us overcome boundaries:
Nation, colour, language, fear, being better
Idelogies, names, cultures
Are we not one?
Are we not – a human being?
So let us refocus: on our humanity
Don’t we all dream the same dream
– to treat us humanely one another?
– to be human for one another?
Let us make this dream come true…

👍 it’s been a while my dearest mermaid, hope you are good?
So beautiful lines. True humanity in not going to worship places but feeding and helping those who need you..
😊
