Join In The Fun! Join In The July 2018 Tea Party!

“What better way to suggest friendliness – and to create it – than with a cup of tea?” -J. Grayson Luttrell

Aloha, charming WordPressers!

I’m delighted to announce you that The Little Mermaid is hosting her first ever monthly tea party on her website. What? A tea party? On WordPress? When? How? For whom? Alright..alright…take it easy. I’m coming on to your questions.

Classically, a ‘tea party’ makes one think of superiorly elegant and elaborate affairs of the Victorian times. It also conjures up images of fluffy scones, flavoursome muffins, Devonshire Cream and dainty sandwiches served on fine silver or deluxe bone china. Still, the elemental part of a tea party remains the affable exchange of dialogue among the invitees. Almost indistinguishably, the tea party that I am organizing is an online social event hosted in honour of bloggers, that is US! Blogging is most enjoyable when it is done interactively. The tea party, therefore, is an ideal occasion for socialising and making, as well as maintaining the acquaintance of those in the blogosphere. It is a chance to truly relax and to take some time to recharge one’s batteries by engaging in a light-hearted conversation, to be with friends and simply delight in each other’s company.

Feel free to talk about anything: music, food, news, sports, fashion, books, travel or nature. The tea party will be open on the first day every month. The thread will be ongoing for that particular period and will be closed on the last day. Make sure that you share your favorite blog post as a comment on the latest one and allure bloggers to read you. As for newcomers out there-grab the golden opportunity to let your freak flag fly by sharing your first post with a huge gathering. Aren’t you excited?

Now that you’re in, it is noteworthy to mention that along with tea and cups, tea parties bring to the table certain etiquettes in the bargain that must be followed to make it more respectful and all the more interesting. Not only does this process make the tea party an entertaining one for everyone involved, it also makes coordination a lot easier.

So, let’s check out the guidelines below.

-Etiquette Number 1- Introduce yourself.

Introduce yourself, your blog or even your latest post to the community in such a way that it encourages others to converse with you. Avoid posting just a link as a comment which looks rude and spammy. Be polite.

-Etiquette Number 2- Mix and mingle.

Tea is a communal experience and there it requires that you meet and greet at least some of the other wonderful people in attendance. Participate by actively reading others’ comments and visiting their links/sites.

-Etiquette Number 3- Share & reblog the most recent tea party.

The purpose of the event is to create a platform where everyone benefits from real diversity of thought; and for that we need to find people who genuinely hold different views and invite them into the conversation. So, please spread the word in the blogosphere through reblogs.

It’s a sure thing that the tea party ritual punctuates our day with precious, refreshing pauses. Perhaps that is the true gift of a teatime celebration: it fills our cups with joy, warmth and friendship. May the echo of the teacup’s message be heard not only at special functions, but anytime friends come together, both in the virtual world and in reality.

With love,

The Little Mermaid

    1. I watched the video of the late show and I have been seeing a lot of other reporting an I do think politics here in America is going to changing a lot over the next few years.

        1. If you talk to the younger people in America you will find they want to change the way our government works.
They want to end all the fighting between party’s and make the government more citizen friendly.
That’s what the younger people are telling me.

              1. Mainly life lessons. But sometimes religion, philosophy, and the sciences. I’m been trying to stay away from politics recently, Mark. Too depressing.

My posts range from dead serious to humorous. But I usually try to throw some fun into them.

                What do you write about?

                1. The blog I am doing here on WordPress is about how to build a life time residual income with a profit and revenue sharing business.
I want to people learn how to make more money so they can be prepared for the next recession.

  1. Such a fun idea, I love it! I just posted on my FB writer page the other day about how I wish I had more “real” writer friends — ie people I could meet for coffee with, but this is pretty dang close! I enjoy reading blogs about other people on a writing journey and those on just plain life’s journey. Throw in some humor, some fiction, with a dash of human rights and mental health awareness, and you’ve got me hooked. These are also the subjects most covered in my corner of the blogging world at https://stacyaldermanwriter.wordpress.com/

    1. Yes it certainly is a fun idea. I could get used to this tea thing. Love the chance of meeting others who share the same passion. This was an interesting read and kinda reminded me of others who deal with life changes as you experienced. Don’t be discouraged tho’! You’ve made much progress from what it appears.🙂👍🏾

    2. I feel you, I think it’s important for creative people, as writers, to be exposed to their peers 😊 I’ll check out your blog! 😽

    3. Hi Stacy,
I followed your blog. I love connecting with other writers. The writing journey gets pretty hard and lonely at times and it’s nice not to feel alone.

    1. Great! In an age when everyone is constantly busy and short of time, what could be more enjoyable than taking the time to indulge in what was once part of everyday life but has now become a luxury-afternoon tea.

I hope you meet new friends at this tea party. Enjoy! X

  2. Ah, good afternoon everyone, what a delight to gather like this on such a delightful day. May one ask is the tea Darjeeling? I do hope so, I shall take a small scone with cream and just a dash of jam if I may? Toodle pip! 🍵 😊

    1. Hi Ogden, thanks for participating in the first tea party. Feel at home and enjoy yourself. The comments section of this post is for you to explore with a cup of tea, yes Darjeeling tea!😉

    2. Hi there… Just one question… I won’t say one small question because its almost as big as the egg and the chicken… Would one like jam first or cream on one’s scone. 😊 😊 😊

      1. It is a very big question…You are brave to raise it!!!
If I had it my way, I apply a thin scraping of unsalted butter first, then the jam and then the cream. But I have friends who are outraged by this and say it is all wrong.
Isn’t there a Cornish way and a Devonshire way? I can never remember which way round it is though.

Would You Like To Come Over For Supper? (Don’t Be Fooled – This Is Not A Food Blog)

        1. You’re quite safe… I don’t do outrage… Far too much effort wasted on something so negative. 😊 😊 😊
I do have a theory though, I think it depends on which you spread and which you dollop.
You spread your butter so it makes sense to put that on first, am I right in also guessing that you spread your jam? 😀 😀 😀

  3. Well, is it okay that I’m drinking coffee? We Texans like coffee. I’m looking around for mermaids as I drink my coffee, but I’m not spotting one yet; I’d really like to see her. Ah, but I see a little traveler who catches my eye. Hello, Francesca. Okay, I’m off to mingle with the other guests. I’m John, by the way. Why yes, yes that is an armadillo tattoo on my shoulder. Yes, it is horrid. I should have it removed, but I have a story… https://nowheretribune.wordpress.com/2018/05/14/the-story-of-the-armadillo-tattoo/

    1. I’ve lived in Texas a few brief times, but the only armadillos I ever saw were dead ones by the side of the road. Are they good eating?

        1. Actually, I’ve never seen more dead deer by the side of the rode than in Texas. I had a 20 mile commute to work in the dark hours of the morning, and saw many live deer eyes in my headlights. On the way back in the afternoon I would see the dead ones.

            1. Kind of close. I was renting a place by Buchanan Dam, and commuting to Burnet, about 45 miles NW of Austin. I was a deejay, and had to open the radio station every morning. I always worried I was going to hit a deer, but fortunately it never happened to me.

      1. I was told that they let out a puff of air when they are frightened and it propels them upward. Maybe works well with animal predators, but large mechanical ones, not so much..

I am Martina, Emerging Artist and Indie Picture Book Maker.

        1. Nice to meet you, Martina. Sounds like a strange defense mechanism those armadillos have. If I ever go armadillo hunting I’ll be sure to stand back so they won’t propel upward and hit me in the nose.

      1. I love my coffee, too! Do you have a particular brand of coffee you like, or you do switch around a lot just for fun? I am not a flavored coffee person. I like just regular coffee, but enjoy trying different brands and strengths.

        1. Hi! I like all coffee. Sometime I am in the mood for something more sweet and other times I like it dark and strong, hot, iced…I like it all! I just started drinking bulletproof coffee a couple months ago as part of keto and I was hooked! So GOOD!

          1. I have not heard of bulletproof coffee. Where does one find it? Is it dark? Mellow? Super strong? Tell me more! 🙂

      1. Thanks, Darnell. The coffee grew cold, and it’s very hot here in Texas. I’m having a beer, now. Nice to meet you. Would you like a beer?

    2. An armadillo tattoo, I’m intrigued.
Coffee for me too this time.. I usually go for latte, lots of milk, but I’m afraid it’s de-caf most of the time… Caffeine is my migraine maker. 😊

    3. Your Armadillo story is very entertaining. I enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by the tea party.

  4. VERY NICELY SAID MY DEAR LITTLE MERMAID.

Very innovative idea of making a ‘Tea party’ without offering Tea. You can call it as illusionary Tea party. It is very nicely pointed out that bloggers should see other bloggers’ posts and make it as a TEA-PARTY. BUT WHAT I FIND IS NO MATTER WHAT ONE SAYS, OTHERS GO ON IN THEIR WAY, whether it is rain or sunshine, and very few people change from their course.

    Happy Sunday to you.

    1. Hi dear, thank you for your presence at the tea party. Please don’t be crestfallen by the ignorance of a few bloggers who do not visit your site. The blogosphere is a very big community with millions of people and I’m sure your blog will be noticeably loved by those who share your passion. Just keep writing.

Happy Sunday to you as well. X

  5. I like my tea thin and weak. Basically just plain water brought up to a boil and poured into a mug. It’s clear, soothing and phlegmatic that way. Now I have a question for my fellow tea partiers. How do you get rid of termites? We’ve got ’em. The exterminator wants to tent the house. We don’t like that idea, especially since the termites are only gnawing upon our back patio. Is the exterminator trying to rip us off? Any home remedies you might recommend?

    1. It depends where the termites are. I had this wooden dresser, some of its drawers became termite infested. I sprayed them with a liberal amount of all purpose insecticide and put them in the sun. I repeated this twice. Voila! no more termites.

      1. That’s nice to know. Ours are chewing on our back patio. So maybe we can get the exterminator to just treat that area real good, and we’ll be okay.

          1. I read your blog post about cold brewed coffee and liked it very much. I was able to make a comment but there was no “Like” button. The word “like” was there but no link attached. Just want you to know I did like it!

            1. Thank you so much for reading and then taking the trouble to let me know that you liked it.

I am not very tech savvy so my blog has a few glitches that I will get help for.
Did you try the like button on your phone or your computer?

              Btw
I have a couple of other coffee articles on my blog. Do check them out.

    2. I don’t know much about termites but I believe that’s the way to handle the problem permanently. Maybe call other exterminators out of state and see what they do. Cant hurt to research online. Good Luck!

      1. Thanks. I get mixed messages from my online research, but most seem to regard tenting as a last resort. I think I’ll do a little shopping around.

      1. Interesting suggestion, and pretty radical also. Maybe even better would be to burn the house down. That’ll kill the little varmints for sure. Then we can build a brick house in its place and never worry about termites again.

    1. Enjoy your tea! Just been reading your post on the death traps – that’s terrifying to think how many accidents and near-misses there are because of lack of checks and poor standards for drivers having rest breaks. Absolutely awful.
      Lovely to ‘meet’ you 🙂
      Caz x

  6. Hello out there all my fellow bloggers! I haven’t been blogging long at all. I do have a real passion for writing and have been writing for along time! My blog is http://www.fabricthatmademe.com I hope so much you will visit me there! I have used writing as a type of therapy and a way to process life but also to connect with others and share love, light and joy! I write about everything from my own childhood, being a mom and wife to health and beauty! I love to laugh and make others laugh as well! Being part of this amazing community has been such a blessing to me! Thank you so much for this wonderful idea and sharing your Tea Party with me! What a great idea! I feel so blessed to be apart of it!

    1. It is a very big question…You are brave to raise it!!!
If I had it my way, I apply a thin scraping of unsalted butter first, then the jam and then the cream. But I have friends who are outraged by this and say it is all wrong.

  7. This is awesome, this is what makes WordPress such a community platform.

I am writing about Life Time Residual Income, we all have the need to earn money and I think more people could benefit from developing a life time source of income instead of working our whole lives for a weekly paycheck. If using the internet to develop a life time source of income sounds interesting to you read this article and let’s have a conversation.

    1. Hello Ledgardo, pleased to meet you, I’m Scott.
That’s an interesting history you have there.
      Congratulations on your achievements.

      Paz

  9. Ooooo I do like me a good cuppa tea!
I feel I should put on my more sophisticated clothes, rather than sitting here typing in shorts and a tee as the weather is warm.
Following from your etiquette terms, I’m Caz and I blog at InvisiblyMe : http://www.invisiblyme.com
I write about chronic/invisible illness, and life in general, sharing my own experiences while trying to raise awareness, provide a little support where I can and offer some tips on various things.

Now that I’ve come this far in my writing, with my pinkie finger in the air as I hold my Tinkerbell mug full of tea, I’m wondering whether this weekend, being the last of June, is actually the start of the tea party, or whether this is a preemptive post in preparation for July.

No matter, I’m either on time or I’m fashionably, well, a month early. I’ll peruse the other comments and check out other blogs. Lovely post, TLM, and a wonderful idea. xx

    1. Hi dear, thanks for joining in the July tea party. You were one of the early participants.

I hope you have a nice time checking out the other blogs and posts.

      Love and hugs X

  10. I am a tea addict and i love to write. It is no coincidence therefore that my first post featured the famous Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from “Alice In Wonderland”
Tea and the food associated with it have always been my favourite kind of meal. I would much rather have tea, cake and sandwiches instead of lunch and dinner.

I began my blog Salted Caramel six months ago. This tea party is a great opportunity for fledgling bloggers like me.
    Do visit me at http://www.saltedcaramel.blog

      1. Thank you so much for the generous comment.
        Was that the first one
        Decision Fatigue, A Modern Malady
        Or
        Avoiding Decision Fatigue

I hope to come up with a third one in the series. Hope you like it.

    1. I took a trip over to your blog and found it to be wonderful. Left a comment on your recent post “Decision Fatigue.” If you get the chance to, check out my blog at http://www.justabitfurther.wordpress.com It’s mostly an outdoor adventure blog, but over the last year I’ve started a section called “Thoughts From The Wilderness.” These posts are my take or thoughts on how nature and the outdoors intersect with our daily lives; our daily struggles and ways we might be able to triumph over those issues and things that are hindering us from leading the lives we were meant to lead.

      1. Thank you so much for your interest.
I believe I have read a couple of your pieces when I started out but since I was new to the game I did not have the confidence to comment.

You will be hearing from me now.

  11. I’m Barbara Lane. I guess my blogs are never on one subject – I’m all over the place. Writing as a cancer survivor, mother and grandmother with stories of my life but also as a pastor’s wife and life-long teacher, I also write about what could be called I guess “Christian” articles. My aim is to make people laugh and also think so my blogs are sometimes funny, sometimes serious. Think this is a great idea as we can meet other bloggers and share ideas. I’ll do the tea as long as it is iced tea. If I want a hot drink it has to be coffee. You can find me at barblaneblog. com – also known as “Grandma’s Ramblings.”

  12. Tea parties are nice. I love Chamomile tea with a touch of brandy. Hi everyone. My name is Darnell. I’m a blogger and love it. My website focuses mostly on writing but I rant on occasion. Take a look, but don’t miss the party. I have an original 50 word story you can view and get back to the fun. It’s called first grade bedtime. I couldn’t have brandy in those days, so I just wrote the story. Have fun! https://darnellcureton.com/2018/04/04/first-grade-bedtime/

    1. Hello Darnell, I’m Scott.
First Grade Bedtime is cute. That’s packing a lot into 50 words!
I do some writing myself, and hope we’ll run into one another again.

      Paz

  13. I’ve put the billy on already and will warm the teapot prior to putting in the tea leaves, one for the pot and one for each cup. Thanks for the invite, See you there.

  14. Aw, I love this! I really enjoyed reading this post. The tea party anaolgy is such a lovely idea and a great way to approach connecting with others in the blogging world.

Hi everyone! I’m Jean and I’m pretty new to the blogosphere. I will be starting my first year of college next month, so my perspective is that of an emerging adult who is beginning to figure out life and who she is. My blog is a platform through which I can be free to express myself and hopefully connect with like-minded people. I will be using my blog as a sort of online journal that includes some of my photography. Ultimately, whatever I am interested in writing about will be featured; I will not be sticking to a specific topic or theme. I would love to connect with other bloggers! and engage in interesting conversations. Check out my blog and let me know what you think! I’d love to make some blogging friends!

Here is the link to my first blog post:
    https://thrivingwithanxietyy.wordpress.com/2018/04/05/the-journey-begins/

It acts as a bit of an introduction, introducing me; my life; and my blog. It was written a few months ago, so my life has definitely evolved since then, but it still gives a good picture of some of the things that make me who I am.

Thank you! Delightful having tea with all of you! 🙂
    ~ Jean

    1. Hello Jean, I’m Scott.
Nice start on blogging for one so early in life!
(I hate to use labels like young and old, “your age”, etc.)
I like the term “emerging adult”.
      Keep at it!

      Paz

  15. I love this theme. It elevates discourse. I’m Phyllis Weeks Rogers. A native Texan born in a suburb of Houston, TX. When I was 26 years old, I moved to a more rural area in NE Texas. I’ve been living on Lake Palestine for many, many years.
I’m a retired nurse and writing is something I’ve always done because I tend to ramble when I talk like my grandmother did. Writing keeps me a bit more to the point. My blog site is https://walkinghumbly.blog. It is very diverse. You will find my love for animals, poetry, commentary on being American, love for the bible expressed with intent to share the gift of my relationship with Christ, and more, more, more.
I reblog often sometimes several on any one date. If an article grabs my attention I reblog. The sites I follow are often very young writers. I also find I’m drawn to foreign writers. I love photography and music and am not talented at either, so follow many of those authors. I also follow cooks, movie critics, book reviewers, and on and on.

I’d like to tell newbies to join in on as many group parties like this as you have time for because you increase, not only your own followers, but find new and interesting sites which fuel your creativity. And more importantly you make a lot of new friends.

      1. Nice to meet you, Clark. Recently time got away from me through a series of events. I’m just now able to sign on and get back to blogging. I’m catching up starting here.

    1. Hi Phyllis, thank you for participating in the first tea party, and most importantly for following the guidelines by inviting others in your circle of friends to join in.

Have a lovely week. Kisses X

  16. Madeline here (On a Journey is my blog). I just finished reading Rachel Mankowitz’s post on friendship and then this. Friendship in the blogsphere can be so uplifting and consoling–to connect with people who share at least one interest or value. I follow bloggers who write about a wide range of topics–from dogs to Christianity to eating disorders–and I feel as though I know them as well as my face-to-face friends (and sometimes even more because some people share so deeply on their blogs). I started my blog after my friend Jim died from brain cancer. We had been friends for more than 20 years when he was diagnosed, and he moved into my home after his diagnosis–with his dog (who now lives with me). Thanks for offering a way to connect more deeply.

    1. Hi Madeline, you are one of the kindest persons that I have ever met in my life. Supporting a friend emotionally and just being there through his illness when he most needed a shoulder to lean on is a most compassionate act. It is said that hard times reveal true friends. Jim was a very lucky guy indeed to have a gem like you by his side. I pray for his soul to rest in peace.

I’ve started following your blog. I hope to see you more often in the blogosphere.

Love and big hugs to you and the dog. May the angels draw the circle of divine light around both of you to protect, heal and strengthen you, for now and always. X

  17. Great Idea. A blog tea party. Our names our Crystal And Daisy Mae. My cat’s name is Daisy Mae and she’s on one of my blogs. That is right I have more than 1 blog. My blog names are CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE & WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING). My last post for CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE IS http://crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com/2018/06/30/my-wildlife-gallery/ and my latest post for WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) is http://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/2018/06/06/queen-daisy-maes-cat-quotes/ . I checked out a couple sites.

    1. Hi there, thank you very much for taking part in the tea party and for sharing about the event in your social networks.

I hope you had a wonderful time checking out some posts/sites.

Lots of love to you X

  18. Dropping by to say Happy Canada Day, today, to all Canadians and happy 4th of July this week to our American friends.
Here’s a link to one of the last poem I wrote on my blog. While I focus on poetry and short fiction, I also do writer/blogger interviews, beauty posts, quotes, and a few other kinds of posts depending on how much time I have 🙂

  19. Awesome idea! I most certainly could get use to this. 👏🏾🙂 I liken it to spending time with friends when I go out to a restaurant. I love tea and coffee too. Tea time is cool. Please to meet you all. Need an encouraging or enlightening word I don’t mind sharing. I’m over here 👉🏾
    https://www.thewaterwholeonline.com
    See ya soon! 🙂👋🏾

  20. Excellent concept to build community and conversation, along with little sips of tea however the way we like it. I’m enjoying getting to know people throughout the world. My blog mostly focuses on travel, travel safety and life influences. I think my favorite blogs are my current ones as I highlight travels along Route 66. My plan is to enhance the flavor this week in talking about certain town influences that helped produce the Cars movie. Maybe I can tie it to the Daytona race this Saturday as well. http://rontittle.com. Nice to meet everyone!

  21. Hello friends! An open invitation to a tea party with such a creative crowd… sounds great! Let me make myself a jasmine green tea… would you like one too?
I’m Snow and I’ve been blogging for 3 years, enjoying it immensely. I used to think my blog was about travel photography but now it has evolved into something else… I’ve started writing and getting a bit more personal. Since people rarely click on old blog posts (which is s shame!), here’s a link to an oldie but goldie where I reveal something about myself:
    https://thesnowmeltssomewhere.wordpress.com/2015/06/04/the-maldives-and-other-memories/
Thanks, Little Mermaid, for introducing us all to each other! 🙂 I clicked on pretty much all of them and found quite a few interesting ones! Yay 😉 Enjoy your day!

    1. Loved your blog Snow and the lovely post on Maldives. Being from India, tourism is like household industry in this vast country with so much to see and experience….:)…hope to connect more through your posts…

  22. What a fantastic idea and I never missed a tea party.Just over week end we were up the north waiting the ferry and we totally by chance went into a little steam train museum that with our surprise had a Victorian tea room, you could borrow outfit and the waitresses were dressed up too.☕️🍰

  23. This is a great idea to gather different viewpoints. I would like to share my recent post, just for fun, as I think it fits in here. My question to this group is How Do You Feel About Political Humor and Social Satire. One of the great comics is David Cross. Here is my recent look at his act:
    https://comicsgrinder.com/2018/06/29/comedy-review-david-cross-and-the-oh-come-on-2018-world-tour/
What he has to say will, if nothing else, get you laughing–and get you talking about various issues!

  24. Hello Little Mermaid! Thank you for dropping by my blog and checking out so many of my recent posts. I love the support and I popped over to your blog and there is even more of it. What a wonderful blog and post. I would like to feature this on my Sunday Share segment!
My blog features my obsession with my grandmother’s story past and present and my obsession with her diaries dating as far back as 1934! They are the focus of the blog as well as her vintage photos. My gram is 100, show her some love and stop on by!
    transcribingmemory.com
I look forward to stopping by as many of these other blogs as I can as well!

  25. Hi Little Mermaid, A lovely post and a brilliant idea! It has ben great fun reading other people links to their blogs and finding such interesting new ones! The blog I write is about going out; theatre, restaurants, galleries, places I’ve travelled to…. I live in London so a lot of it is about that city. However, I am about to spend three weeks on Ireland, so hopefully, there will be some posts from there soon.
    https://wordpress.com/view/reviewdonkey.wordpress.com
Thanks again for such an enjoyable post!

    1. Haha! This is the ultimate compliment that I could ever receive. I’m humbled. Thank you.

By the way, may I please know what made you say so?

      Have a beautiful Sunday! X

      1. I am impressed by the volume and quality of comments. I think that reflects more than your website but also your ability to make connections. I suspect that ability transcends your blog to the real world.

        1. Indeed dear! I’m also always overwhelmed with joy when I read the heartfelt comments. I suppose it’s all down to the friendly disposition that lurks deep in the couthy souls of most bloggers. I have been blogging for less than three years but I feel I have known most of you here for eons. I would have never imagined I’d be receiving so much love when I started off. The blogosphere is a beautiful world.

Thank you again for being one in the cohort of cheering friends. I appreciate and I treasure your support.

          Best wishes X

  26. Hi, am I late? I hope not! I so much like this idea of a communicative virtual tea-party. On my blog, we’re actually two people writing about our experiences and thoughts. We like visiting your blogs, and this party seems a big opportunity to visit some that are entirely new to us. Myself being Swedish and my blog companion being originally Russian, we’re of course interested in the ongoing soccer World Cup, but you know – the weather is so fine, and we won’t sit indoors too much. And the warm nights!! My latest blog post is about a nightly experience with birds’ nightly voices: http://attsmakalivet.se/natur/2018/07/busksangare-i-julinatten
Next week, my blog companion will come to see me. Hope there will be more opportunities to pop in here later.
    Love
    Ellington

    1. Hi Ellington, you were not too late when you posted this comment on the 5th of July, but just in case you wish to be on time and among the very first visitors for the next tea party, I’d advise you to drop by my site on the 1st August.

Meanwhile, have fun around getting to know other bloggers!

      Kisses X

  27. Hi, The Litle Mermaid, I am really impressed with your keen sense of intelligence, your Etiquette list, and idea of sharing knowledge while having delicious snacks with tea is an amazing idea. Extrovert thinking like yours encourage bloggers to come out and let’s intermingle with your colleagues who only interact through commenting.

    1. Thank you very much for the kind words, darling Miley! Bloggers like you who inspire others make this huge blogging community warm and friendly.

I hope you keep in touch. Have a great Sunday!

      Hugs and kisses X

  28. Hi all, this is a lovely initiative and am very happy to be here ….:)…I am from India and a personal blogger with no niche whatsoever :):)…..my latest post is about a new Dutch pop band called HAEVN…..listen to their music and I am sure they will be great companions along with tea and cookies and cakes….. https://mydailyjournalonline.com/haevn-out-with-their-album-eyes-closed/ ….. music has been kinda lifeline for me and I try to share as much as I can….:)

  29. This is a wonderful opportunity to everyone in the blogging community.
I am Fredrick Adehe and I blog about sports. I discuss and analyze sports issues in an unbiased and unadulterated manner. I also motivate people to love sports. Below is a link to my blog. Please show check it out and i am sure you will love it.

  30. Great post and a great way to know other bloggers. Since I just started blogging in January this is a great way to meet fellow bloggers. Thank you for doing this. 😊

  31. As with all social situations I’m going to say a big thank you to the host for a wonderful tea party and then stay in the corner hiding behind a big smile 😊

  32. Thank you Mi-lady for writing such a beautiful piece about your tea party! My Name is Aaron J and I’m a Theology Student from the Franciscan University of Stuebenville. My blog is not written in a sense to “convert” people to God. It’s more on sharing my personal insights from a theological/philosophical view point. I invite anyone to check out my latest blog
    https://ajlostsheepforchrist.wordpress.com/2018/07/14/do-you-want-to-become-a-saint/
It is their to showcase that you don’t need to have special gifts or “powers” to make a difference in the world. All you need to do is be the very best at what you do! Thank you and hope you have an enjoyable weekend.

  33. Hiya peeps, a virtual tea party sounds right up my street. 😊
As I commented on another Blogging Buddy’s post only this morning…
My outlook on life is a bit skewif, I’m going slowly bonkers, but a little girl I heard of a long time ago was told that “all the best people are. ”
I struggle to keep my happy thoughts so I have to make or find as many as I can, as often as I can to stay sane (my brand of sane anyway) and if I can make someone else happy too, that’s twice the amount of happy thoughts for me.
Always happy to share a smile.
    https://hallysann.wordpress.com

I’ve brought some more cakes, carrot cake, made with allbran (then we can eat cake and still pretend it’s healthy) and some pretty little fairy cakes that I’ve cut into butterfly cakes…
I take sugar in coffee, so if I drink tea (without sugar) I can have an extra cake.
    Anyone else need a refill?
    😊 😊 😊

  34. What a great idea! I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new bloggers 🙂
I have a history blog – I’m most proud of my family history posts. I have several now – and I should write a few more as they are always popular. My history blog covers many themes over the last 500 years – Henry VIII, Queen Victoria, suffragettes, Harry Potter and Princess Diana. If you look closely you will also see a few blogging/writing articles. This month I’ve started a monthly theme – blue plaques for the month of July. 🙂

I’m off to put the kettle on! 🙂

  35. What a super cute idea! Thank you for inviting us. I’m Missy from Texas. While I don’t drink coffee, own a gun or a 🤠 cowboy hat I do own a pair of boots, country dance, say “yes ma’am”, “y’all” and “fixin’”. I know it makes my English friends shiver when I say “fixin’”. My morning tea is a warm cup of organic green tea, 1 tablespoon organic, freshly squeezed lemon and freshly grated organic ginger root. Thank you for inviting me. I am enjoying the comments and getting to know everyone. Hugs & love y’all.💞

  36. *Curtseys* Γειά σας, φίλοι μου.
No, I’m not Greek but I’m a philhellene (pretty close, don’t you think?) and I’m learning the language, so yes I’ll shamelessly show it off.
Wait wait wait! Don’t run away-I’m not gonna bore you with my incessant rambling about how much I love Greece, so you might as well stay ’cause the good stuff’s about to start.
First of all, let me say to the host, I think this is a wonderful platform you’ve created here to mingle with fellow bloggers now that we don’t have community pool. Quick question, dear host- you started your blog about the same time I did, yet you have around 33 times more traffic than I do. How? I’m not jealous or anything, I just want to build a better foundation in the writing sphere before I try and publish my book.
As for me, I’m the one who writes at Charlie and the Cerebration Factory. At the Factory, you’ll find stories, poems, parodies of famous poems, humorous conversations with my brain and the occasional article or rambling.
Presently, I’m doing a serialised story involving fourth wall awareness- where the protagonist finds out that he’s in a book and sets out to kill the writer. If you’d like to read it, here’s the link- https://magicquill17.wordpress.com/category/short-stories/killing-the-creator/

  37. I was just scrolling through the comments and posts on Swimmers Weekly when I noticed Historian Ruby had praised your tea party.
This is lovely. I really hope you make it a regular feature.
I have been blogging for around ten weeks – my site is about Caramel – a Learner at Love (who was crushed but is now putting the pieces back together), but as I have been travelling for the past couple of weeks, so I have produced some recent posts from my trips to towns and cities in the north of England. This is one of them:
    https://crushedcaramel.wordpress.com/2018/07/06/manchester-in-a-heat-wave/
I am going to finish going through Swimmers and then look through all the comments and posts at your Tea Party.
Thank you for promoting a great community spirit.

  39. I had never heard of a tea party like this until I happened upon this link via Google+. What a fun idea! As with a real tea party, I find myself hiding in the corner before squeaking out a few self-conscious words.
    “I carried a watermelon.”
*heart pounds. Instantly regrets the way my voice sounds and what I said. I’m such a lame nerd.*
I’ll go back to quietly luring through all the comments
And here’s my latest blog post…

  43. Love the idea of this tea party, Little Mermaid! Thank you for this opportunity!

I’m just getting back into blogging after a long hiatus. If you’re looking for commentary on a variety of subjects, including a few new ideas now and then, then please check out my blog. I haven’t found many like it on the net, so I’ve begun to think I might have fairly unique format. But you be the judge of that.

Everyone welcome! Nude blogging on Mondays!

  44. What an absolutely amazing idea!! Love it❤👌

And it looks like a huge amount of others think the same so complete kudos to you Urvashi.

So, hello fellow tea lovers…some I recognise…hello!… and many I will be meeting for the first time…pleased to meet you!…and i can see myself flitting across many sites over the next few days😊

I’m Stephen and this is my site..

    https://revelationsend.wordpress.com

It did start off primarily to focus on my writing, however it’s morphed into an eclectic mix of that, local stories, wanders, events, ponderings, poems, my fight with depression, music, and my adoration for this community!

Hope you visit and say hi, and I’ll pop along to yours too!

    Brilliant!

  45. Sorry I’ve been a stranger but I’ve been sick and just got back from vacation. My name is Crystal and I own 2 blogs on WordPress. The First one I started in January of 2017 and it’s called WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING). The reason I have such a long name is I changed the name. The site address for this blog is http://daisymae2017.wordpress.com . My second blog I started in April of 2017 and I named it CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE then changed it to CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE. Who is Daisy Mae? Daisy Mae is my soon to be 12 year old cat. I wanted to have a little fun with the title and thought by adding her name would be a good way of doing it. Now don’t let the title fool you because the blog is not strictly about pictures. In Fact, the blog is about Animals, Photos, Blogging, Family, Country Living, Poetry And Much, Much More. The site address for my 2nd blog is http://crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com . Hope you and everyone else follows both of my blogs. Thanks To You And Everyone Else In Advance. Thanks for this opportunity.

  46. “What better way to suggest friendliness – and to create it – than with a cup of tea?” – J. Grayson Luttrell
I am a new blogger writing about recommendations- anything from travelling to restaurants to mindfulness ideas. A recent convert into being positive. It truly is the small things in life that make a difference. Welcome into my blog! This truly is an excellent idea. 🙏😊

  47. Such a great idea. I am looking forward to it. I haven’t been to a tea party since my daughter was small.

  48. At another house we had termites the exterminator just came and sprayed them. They were in the master bath. They did they the attic and other places but, only treated he involved area. I would get a second opinion. Good luck.

  49. I just began doing honest, but amateur reviews of poems submitted to me. It’s turns out to be a popular idea. I’ve posted two reviews in two days. Anyone?

  50. Can’t submit ’em, but I just posted a chapbook worth of combined poetry/prose at word art by rawgod. You want practice, go for it. wordartbyrawgod.wordpress.com. Start at the bottom, lol.

  51. Hi, I’m Susan. I started blogging about three years ago. Then I went through a time period where I just had no time. Shut down my blog for about ten months then realized how much I missed it. I am not out to change the world with my blog. Just writing for fun. I don’t touch on one particular theme. I am very eclectic in my topics. Some are funny. Some are serious. Some deal with my life now and what I’m going through. Some touch on people or animals in my life. Please feel free to come over and visit at: https://themoonlithowl.com/
I have many favorite posts, but this is my first, or one of my first blogs that I posted: https://themoonlithowl.com/2017/07/27/within-the-walls-of-the-house-my-parents-built/
I am about to start on a new blog this evening . One that has on its own turned into a continuing series of blogs, but I promise to come back in a day or two and read some of the wonderful blog pages I’ve seen here.
As for me? I grew up in South Carolina. I now live in Florida. I have two beautiful daughters, one incredible son-in-law, and an individual who is the love of my life – my 8 month old grandson!

Thank you to The Little Mermaid for this wonderful tea party!

  52. Just walked in the the tea party on the 27th… sooooo much that I have missed this month. Oh, I’ll take Earl Grey with two lumps of sugar and cream, oooooh, cucumber sandwich; Glad that Alginon did not eat them all before the party. Yes, July has been a busy month, traveling to see family, other family visiting us here, more projects around home and the garden, of course, it’s July, soooo much rain this year, everything is growing wildly, but not ripening up, must get some sunny days… thanks, do be mother. -Oscar

  53. Oh hello everyone, I hope I’m not too late. Was too caught up with errr.. Life really! No, honestly, been too caught up that I’ve actually returned to blogging after a year! This tea party looks great, I’d love for each one of you to come visit my blog and maybe share your thoughts too? Hmm.. All my blog posts are titled using lyrics of songs. You may check it here : https://thesilenthummer.wordpress.com/2018/07/28/send-me-the-pillow/
I’ll enjoy some Earl grey in the mean while 😉

    1. Those topics sound right up my alley, Viola. I’ll check out your blog for sure.

Of course, you’re under no obligation to check out my blog in return, but I write about those same topics, and on a wide variety of other topics. I call my stuff, “Honest thought and analysis on a variety of subjects, often spiced with humor.”

  54. Is there still tea in the pot?
I hope to come back on 1st August to see if Tea-Party-Two happens, so I can mingle from early on.

Just loved Mauritius, been there three times – how great to be reminded of those times again.
