I love Rita Hayworth.
She’s my favourite actress of all time.
Both Orson Welles and I share similar tastes.
You may well be right in your assessment, though there is Ava Gardner to consider & also the divine Miss Louise Brooks.
If I had Ava Gardner dying for me like she did for James Mason in Pandora and The Flying Dutchman, I’d be quite happy.
I love her too. She’s a beauty goddess.
Have a fantastic weekend break Dracul. See you XO
You too, Mermaid. ❤️
And bring on the maple syrup and vodka and let’s explode. 😉
Haha! Sure!😂
😊
Yes. Yes. Yes!
🤗
Why, indeed
😊
Beautiful thought 😊
Thank you lovely.
Best wishes to you X
😊😇
I love it.Yes be a cocktail forever…..
I love Rita too😉
Haha! That’s right Ortensia.
Sending you much love and hugs X
And back❤️
Fantastic motto!
Thanks Megala!
Hugs XO
Love this quote.
Thank you!!🤗
It’s a very cool quote.
Thanks for sharing!.. 🙂
“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
A wonderful quote! I also believe that destiny lies in our hands.
Have a nice weekend. XO
You have a wonderful weekend also and may each and every day be filled with love and happiness… 🙂

Thank you for the reblog!🤗
I do love my cocktails.
Aw! Me too!🤗
Yeah!
😇
I love it – I want to be a “phenomenally explosive cocktail of maple syrup and vodka”!! 🙂
You already are!😇
Aw yay! – Here’s to all of us awesome maple syrup & vodka cocktails!! 🙂
But being vanilla I can be most any where, but maple syrup and vodka? Maybe only a select few places to go. ☺
Hello dear, to be vanilla is to be bland and cheap just so you can be put anywhere. However, by being a cocktail of maple syrup and vodka, you become more valuable and interesting, appealling to a select few of your level.
Have a nice Saturday! X
i know, but to me there is nothing bland or cheap about vanilla and i would rather be appealing to many, than just a few and to truly get the flavor of vanilla, one has to go through many steps to cultivate the plant and i hope you have a great weekend 🙂
Haha! While I do grasp what you are trying to say, I would like to underscore that the objective of this quote is not about promoting the idea of superiority or inferiority over other people. This message is not relative.
Let me further tell you that this quote has got nothing to do with the gorgeous vanilla plant. I have vanilla plants at home in my garden and my father has shown me how to hand-pollinate the flowers in order to grow the vanilla beans. So, trust me when I say that I value the time, efforts and patience it takes to grow vanilla plants.
‘Plain vanilla’, in English, means having no special or extra features; ordinary or standard; and the quote is to be understood in this precise figurative context. I restate: this is an absolute, not a comparative scenario.
Ain’t nobody got the time for comparison when we are all the same!
On that note, I wish you have a marvellous weekend filled with vanilla cookies, vanilla ice-cream and vanilla pudding.
Love and hugs XO
🙂 <- just a vanilla reply. 😉
I have collected and made maple syrup by hand, right from selecting the time and the tree to boiling it down to a syrup and beyond to sugar. The real stuff is hard to find and expensive. Almost never see it in restaurants. Instead there is something about the right color and consistency but inferior taste. They label it “maple flavored” or just “old fashioned” and hope you don’t notice.
Many people have never tasted the real thing.
i can count myself as having had the real thing. 🙂
Maple syrup and vodka??? Hmm. I guess I’d give it a shot! — YUR
What a motto to live by 🖤
Thank you!😊
I know too many closet drunks who sip vodka from their purses but I think maple syrup is the best! We make it on our farm 😉
Wow Adrienne! That’s pretty cool. Where do you live by the way? Do you have a blog post on how you produce the maple syrup? If you do, please share it here as a link. I’m so eager to read from you. Thanks a lot!
Have an awesome day, darling.
Love and hugs X
Here you go! https://raisingmilkandhoney.wordpress.com/2015/03/18/mud-and-syrup/
Beautiful post! It looks quite chilly but definitely lotsa fun too. And your fur babies are very cute. They seem to be enjoying your company.
I will visit your site more often for my dose of virtual maple syrup on your farm. Take care.🤗
Hell Yeah !!!
😇
I have both ingredients made locally. Time for a drink!
It seems to me that Rita’s legs were insured for a million dollars.
Haha! She was a bombshell. I agree.
If you’re going along to get along, you’re doing it wrong…can’t remember who wrote that, it is my response to this wonderful post!!
Very well said! Conforming for the sake of security, comfort and political correctness is not my department. I’m still unable to decide whether it’s my plus point or a weakness.😂
I put that in the pluses column, damn the naysayers 🤔🧐😇😘
Why indeed… is that what you are? 🙂
Do you think so, Simon?😂
I have no real idea mermaid. I don’t know you well enough. Is that bad? 😀
No, that’s not bad, Simon. It was meant to be this way. Mermaids are known to be a little secretive.😂
I’m sure they are secretive. But it’s that so they can stay hidden or be discovered? 🙂
sissy here on the wagon smiles ludicrously offering you the idea of Vermont Maple Ginger – ‘tea’ (tisane) from Celestial Seasonings tea of Boulder Colorado…. and cackles about a rocking chair
Hey Starman Jones!😊
Hay??? I can make tea of that!
Now this is a great motto!
Thanks Sarah! 🤗
I’ll pass on the vodka, and pour the syrup on my pancakes. I understand that some people also use it in their hair. Must be tough to rinse out.
Oh! Pancakes with maple syrup sounds yummy! I must try that.😊
Great quote!
Thank you!🤗
She was some stunner, Rita Hayworth. I’m past the explosive cocktail stage Little Mermaid. My vodka days are well and truly over. Give me a nice English Breakfast in the afternoon and I’m happy.
The essence of life is to be happy-whether you are a cocktail of maple syrup and vodka or not! By the way, I also love English breakfasts on Sunday mornings. 🙂
Never thought about it in that way.
🙂
I agree! Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Thank you darling! X
Beautiful and what we should all strive for! Thank you for sharing this lovely thought!! I hope you have an amazing weekend!
Hello Alyssa, it was a pleasure to share my musings with you.
Thanks and have a lovely Friday sweetie!

Thanks for the reblog angel! 🙂
And here I thought I tried everything. ::digs out the maple syrup from the shelf below the vodka:: 😋
Happy Saturday, Mermaid!
Haha! Thank you! Have a great day Tom!
Hugs X
You have an eye for good topics. It’s nice of you to be polemick when you can.
Thank you so much Daniel! Actually, my sporadic rebukes with regards to some topics can be largely attributed to my inability of dealing with the imbecility and vainglory of people. Haha!
Enjoy your day! X
Now that’s saying something! 😉
🤗
Awesome quote, with a gorgeous shot of Rita to go with it. 😉
Thank you!😊
Aww! Such a lovely rose!
I have always, always adored roses since they are classically romantic. Beautiful. Refreshing. They seem to have their own story to tell.
Thank you for the picture.
Hugs and kisses XO
Actually sounds like a tasty combo! ♥
😊
I love the whole personality & life verve cocktail metaphor. This says a lot about you, and the verve carries through in your writing. Looking forward to reading your next piece. 😉
Thank you so much Paul! I appreciate your stopping by my site and commenting on this post. I also look forward to building a fruitful blogging relationship with you.

agree!!!!!
Yaaay!🤗
Love it!
Thank you Roth!

Real maple syrup is hard to come by and expensive. Here’s to not being artificial!
Cheers Fred! 🤗
hehe I agree!!
I’m glad you do.🤗
Maple syrup and vodka, really? If you can go by looks alone, it’s worth a try.
Yeah!😊
Yeah!
😊
I want to be something spectacular including lashings of chocolate!
And I just want to be a donut! Donut is love. Donut is life. Donut is the saviour.😂
Hmmmmmm… a chocolate donut? But there’s a hole in that theory.
Chocolate donut? So mouth-watering! A chocolate donut is way more irresistible than a tall, sturdy, dusky, six-pack abs man. And there’s no hole in this theory.😂
My sirenita, I can’t imagine you as plain vanilla anything. As mi sirenita you have the power to call me into the sea to drown. That has to be caramel, almond fudge at least 😀
It’s great to be back in touch. ❤️
Whee! Richhhh!! How are you? I haven’t seen you around in such a long time. I have missed you in the blogosphere.
Aww caramel? Almond fudge? You’re over-pampering me.
Sending you lots of love and hugs XO
No one hugs and loves like you do, Sirenita. Sending you the same in a pretty giftbox with a bow of kisses on the top.
It is so wonderful to see you now!
Such a lovely surprise! Thank you handsome. X
Have a fantastic weekend! 🤗
Now I want to mix whiskey and vanilla and see how it tastes.
Hello Dave, this time around make sure you ring the changes when choosing flavours for your whiskey. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. 🙂
Definitely agree!
Glad you do! :))
Oh yes, I completely agree!!
Thank you Lisa :))
I usually get Rita Hayworth mixed with Susan Hayward. It’s nice to remember old classics. Take care.
You are not to be blamed. There’s an uncanny resemblance between the two actresses.
Take care you too, Lorac. XO
Hi. That’s why even today I still get them mixed up. Take care.
Rita Hayworth knew all about explosive. 🙂
I bet she did.😊
C’est ce que disaient les mauvaises langues. 😉

Why not? Plainness is guilty: of a defalcation of ornamentation.
Ornamentation is the proof of richness.
Queen Sheba saw the superlatively robed servants of King Solomon and gave glory to the power of attraction.
Did the LORD God create a plain humanity? Check this out: God made man in HIS own image, the backside of which Moses saw and became a next of kin to the solar. If Adam was made to dominate the affairs of the terra firma then an explosion of his prowess must be visible.
An explosive breakthrough is always an attending prerequisite to a success story.
Thank you, Little Mermaid, for yet another thought fomenting post, and of course, for liking my post, “Jehovah’s Witness Myopic View Of Jesus (IV).”
That sounds like a lovely cocktail! 🍹
Beautiful and so true
Thank you.

That is a great motto. You are adorable and your blog is charming.
Sindy
Aw! Thank you very much Sindy! 🙂
My pleasure ❤
But what if you don’t drink? LOL. I love it! And I thought that was Rita Hayworth 🙂
Haha! Actually it’s even better if you don’t drink anything alcoholic because then I’m sure you’ll enjoy my tea party! Keep posted for more details!
Love and hugs to you X
That is awesome
Thank you, darling Kelly!
Have a bright day! X
Mermaids and vodka. Ah, you’ve inspired my next trip. And tattoo.
That’s great then!😇
I want you to please teach me the art of writing. victorlovesecrets.wordpress.com
Ah, those were the days when stars were magical… Thanks for reminding me of that. Cheers.
Vanilla is one of the most complex spices !!!! It has over 250 different flavor and aroma compounds. Only one of those is Vanillin which can be artificially made !!
I absolutely loved this! Amazing quotation and an amazing woman and thank you for sharing!
Bonjour ou bonsoir
Proverbe
Gros bisous. Bernard
Aah, ‘our kind’ of quote! With a few drops of rosewater please.
*smiles*
So beautiful, they knew how to take photos in those days, and the starlets were so elegant back then.
Syrup and vodka are two of my favorite things.
In life, we should always aim high.
I agree!🙂
In my case I guess because maple syrup’s bad for your teeth and vodka’s bad for almost everything else…
Spicy-delish with a bit of Mae West on the side…
Vanilla is no fun at all 😉
Love this quote I spotted the other day
Be a first rate version of yourself rather than a second rate version of someone else!!
Judy Garland
Well said!
Absolutely!
😇

Love the quote. And who doesn’t like Rita Hayworth as well. Class and elegance all wrapped in one. Maple syrup and vodka. A staple on Canadian tables for over 100 years
